Inspector Pete Foster outlines what the Chippenham NPT is doing following the recent fatal stabbing.
A total of 120 people were arrested for drink or drug driving offences in Wiltshire during December, a 35% increase on December 2024.
Wiltshire Police continues to carry out regular Project Vigilant deployments, which consist of intelligence-led patrols of hotspot locations to identify potential sexual predators and prevent sexual violence against women and girls (VAWG) across the county.
Local policing teams across Wiltshire carried out over 100 additional public engagements during Safer Business Action (SaBA) week, which took place from last Monday, 10 November, to Sunday 16 November.
Officers increased patrols of Wiltshire’s major road networks to disrupt and intercept criminal activity, as part of a national week of action targeting organised vehicle crime.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) / Street Drinking
Issued 22 May 2026
Two Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) were issued to known street drinkers and have since been escalated to Community Protection Notices (CPNs).
We’ve delivered regular engagement sessions in the town centre, including the use of the exhibition vehicle, and carried out daily patrols in identified ASB hotspots.
Throughout December there was a significant amount of proactive Op Dasher activity with community reassurance visits to businesses.
We also attended CCTV partnership meetings and shared information on individuals of concern to improve early identification and monitoring.
We continue to tackle antisocial behaviour and street drinking through targeted patrols and partnership working to improve community safety.
