This site is a beta, which means it's a work in progress and we'll be adding more to it over the next few weeks. Your feedback helps us make things better, so please let us know what you think.
Please note: if you submitted a road traffic incident report on this site, you'll be able to download a copy of your report once you've submitted it. That report is a collision report. You can then send that report to your insurance company or solicitor.
If you're a solicitor or an insurance agent, you can apply, on behalf of your client, for a copy of any existing collision reports the police have made or hold. Find out more about the types of reports that can be requested.
Individuals can also apply for collision reports if they're representing themselves in civil proceedings.
Before you apply, you'll need the police reference number or the registration number of the vehicle involved in the collision. The police reference number will be in one of these formats:
Fill in the 'Request a collision report form' below and email it to us or post it to the following address:
Collision Records Dept
Gablecross Police Station
Shrivenham Road
Swindon
SN3 4RB
Please make sure you complete all the fields on the form, including you or your client's vehicle registration number if you don't have the police reference number.
Less information filled out in the initial search form can cause considerable delays in requests being fulfilled.
Collision reports can be released prior to the completion of the investigation if certain criteria is met around the case. However, in most cases due to backlogs, the case may be finalised prior to the release of the collision report.
Please note, collision reports are supplied at the discretion of the chief constable.
