Inspector David Tippetts has over 19 years of policing experience and has worked within Neighbourhood Policing throughout his career—serving as a Police Constable, Sergeant, and now Inspector. He has worked across the county and moved to Swindon in 2018 as the Sergeant for the Swindon Central South area. Following his promotion, he spent 18 months as a Duty Inspector on a response team before returning to Central South in 2021 as Sector Head.

David is passionate about his Neighbourhood Policing Team investing in the local community and working in partnership to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB). A key focus of his work is targeting those who cause the most harm and frequently come to police attention—demonstrated through his leadership of the Criminal Behaviour Order Panel, which he chairs.

Community engagement remains a top priority for David. He is committed to building strong relationships with schools, community groups, and key stakeholders. By ensuring his team maintains a visible presence at community events and actively listens to local concerns, David works to foster collaboration and find effective solutions to prevent crime and reduce ASB.

PC Holly Huntington has been a Police Officer in Swindon for over 11 years, following two years of voluntary service as a Special Constable. She currently covers the Railway Village, Kingshill, and Rushy Platt areas, where she is passionate about neighbourhood policing and committed to supporting vulnerable members of the community.

Safeguarding is at the heart of Holly’s work. She takes pride in ensuring that people feel safe, supported, and protected.

Holly is also a trained Family Liaison Officer, a role she considers a privilege as it allows her to provide vital support to families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

In addition, Holly is a tutor constable, helping to guide and mentor new officers as they begin their policing careers - something she finds both rewarding and fulfilling.

PC 71188 James Hawkins is a Police Constable with the Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team.

He covers the areas of Railway Village, Kingshill, and Rushy Platt in Swindon.

James has been a Police Officer for around five months and has quickly developed a proactive approach to community policing. He regularly conducts patrols on foot, by bike and by car to maintain a visible presence in his areas. During these patrols, James engages with members of the public to understand local concerns and identify specific locations that require focused attention.

He also works closely with housing associations and other partners to address community issues collaboratively, aiming to improve safety and quality of life for residents.

PC Jess Terrett is the Neighbourhood Police Officer for the Old Town and Okus area in Swindon. She has served as a police officer for four years, including two years on response and two years on the neighbourhood team.

Jess is particularly passionate about the detection and prevention of violence against women and girls. She enjoys engaging with residents, business owners, and community partners to understand the issues affecting the local community and to work collaboratively on finding effective solutions.

PCSO Abbie Sims has worked for Wiltshire Police for four years and is a valued member of the Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Team. She covers the Railway Village and Kingshill areas, where her work focuses on building strong community relationships, gathering local intelligence, and tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Abbie plays a key role in delivering the Mini Police programme across several primary schools, aiming to build trust and confidence in the police among young people. She finds great satisfaction in seeing children’s confidence grow during the programme and values the opportunity to foster positive early interactions with policing.

She has also participated in two Synergy courses - an initiative designed for young people involved with the Youth Justice Service. Through this work, Abbie helps improve young people’s relationships with the police and supports efforts to divert them from criminal pathways.

PCSO Emma Coleman is a dedicated member of the Swindon Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team, with a focus on patrolling the Old Town area. Having served this community for the past eight years, Emma has built strong relationships with local schools, residents and business owners.

Committed to visibility and approachability, Emma regularly conducts foot patrols, providing a reassuring presence and encouraging open communication with members of the public. A passionate advocate for community engagement, one of the most rewarding aspects of Emma's role is attending and supporting local events.
