Plane crash in Ahmedabad

Inspector Annabel Martin is the Neighbourhood Inspector for the Stratton, Central Swindon, North and West Neighbourhood Policing Team.
She has proudly served as a police officer for 18 years. The first 12 years of her career were spent in response policing, where she dealt with a wide range of incidents and supported members of the public during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. This fast-paced role built her resilience and sharpened her problem-solving skills.
After promotion to Inspector, she went on to manage the police control room and support initial firearms command - coordinating emergency responses and ensuring critical resources were deployed swiftly and effectively. This experience strengthened her leadership in high-pressure environments.
In May 2024, Inspector Martin took on her current role in neighbourhood policing—an area she has long admired for its emphasis on long-term problem solving and community engagement. She now leads a committed and proactive team serving the communities of Stratton, Central North, and West Swindon.
Inspector Martin is proud of the positive impact her teams make every day by building trust, listening to concerns, and tackling the local issues that matter most. She remains committed to ensuring the team is visible, approachable, and working closely with residents and partners to make a lasting difference.
PC Andrew Deller is a Neighbourhood Policing Officer based in Stratton, Swindon.
He began his career with Wiltshire Police as a Police Community Support Officer, working in the North Central Swindon sector. In 2018, he progressed to train as a Police Constable, initially serving on Swindon’s response teams before moving into neighbourhood policing.
PC Andrew Deller has a strong interest in problem solving and searching, applying these skills to proactively address community concerns. His focus is on tackling recurring issues, building lasting solutions in partnership with residents and local agencies and contributing to a safer and more resilient community.
PC 2804 Tara Plaister is a Neighbourhood Police Officer serving the Stratton, Central North and West areas of Swindon.
Tara joined Wiltshire Police in 2016, initially working as a Response Officer in Swindon. In 2021, she transitioned to the Neighbourhood Policing Team, where she now focuses on community engagement and long-term problem solving.
Her key interest lies in working closely with communities to create safer, more secure spaces for residents to live, fostering positive relationships to tackle local issues collaboratively.
PCSO Guodong XU has served as a Police Community Support Officer with Wiltshire Police since 2021. He is part of the Stratton, Central North and West Swindon Neighbourhood Policing Team, covering the Stratton area.
Guodong has a particular interest in youth engagement and is actively involved in the Mini Police programme. He strongly believes in the power of early positive interactions between the police and young people, helping to build trust and inspire future interest in policing careers.
Fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, Guodong plays a key role in engaging with Swindon’s Chinese community and often supports colleagues with language needs to ensure effective communication and inclusive policing.
He is passionate about building stronger community relationships and being a visible, approachable presence in his local area.
DS Kara Peet began her policing career in 2009 as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) with Wiltshire Police. After four years in the role, she became a Police Constable in 2013. Since then, she has served in various departments, including Response Policing, the Public Protection Unit—where she completed her Detectives qualification—and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She later progressed to Sergeant, returning to Response Policing before taking on a Detective Sergeant role focused on Serious Organised Crime.
In January 2025, Kara joined the Neighbourhood Policing Team, where she is enjoying the opportunity to build strong community relationships and tackle local issues.
Her professional interests include public protection, human trafficking, and exploitation. She finds it particularly rewarding to investigate and support individuals in breaking free from exploitative situations.
