A woman in her 70s has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision involving a marked police car on the A350 near Chippenham.
Officers were called at 12.05pm today (03/06) to the northbound carriageway between the Malmesbury Roundabout and the M4 following a collision between a police car and a black Mini Cooper.
The sole passenger travelling in the Mini Cooper was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
The driver of the Mini Cooper, a man in his 70s, was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene.
A police officer, who was the sole occupant of the police car, was also assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene.
The police officer was responding to an incident at the time of the collision.
No arrests have been made.
The northbound carriageway of the A350 was closed to allow for investigation work to take place and has now reopened.
Due to the circumstances of the incident, a referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
