Message of thanks from Chief Constable following Coronation weekend

Chief Constable Catherine Roper has thanked the Wiltshire community following a peaceful Coronation weekend.

Chief Constable Roper said: “We would like to thank our local communities following a peaceful Bank Holiday weekend which saw celebrations take place across the county for the King’s Coronation.

“Street parties and events were held all over Wiltshire to mark the historic occasion and officers were out and about patrolling and providing a policing presence at various community events.  

“National events of this scale can be demanding on our resources, and combined with a number of complex policing incidents over the weekend, it was a busy period for the Force.

“Planning around the policing element of the Coronation celebrations has been ongoing for some time and we have worked closely with partner agencies.

“We are pleased to report that the weekend celebrations passed peacefully without any major incidents to report.

“We hope that residents enjoyed the King’s Coronation celebrations with friends and family.”
