Police Sergeant 2686 James Osment appeared before a Gross Misconduct Hearing at Devizes Police Headquarters between 22nd and 25th June 2026.
The allegations were that Police Sergeant 2686 James Osment had made several inappropriate remarks towards a female Police Constable he was supervising between May 2025 and November 2025, causing her to feel harassed and targeted in the workplace, contrary to the Standards of Professional Behaviour.
The allegations were proven and it was found that he had breached the following Standards of Professional Behaviour:
The panel found these breaches amounted to gross misconduct and Police Sergeant 2686 James Osment was dismissed without notice.
