Rural crime is a significant concern across the Mere area, including offences affecting farms, hare coursing, and non-dwelling burglaries such as theft from outbuildings and rural businesses.

Road Safety
Issued 10 May 2026
Road safety remains a priority across our rural road network, where speed, visibility and driver behaviour can increase risk.
We will continue targeted patrols and speed enforcement in areas of concern and work with partners to improve safety. Everyone has a role to play, taking care on rural roads helps protect drivers, cyclists, walkers and residents.
