Wiltshire police is split into eight Community Policing Teams (CPTs). Each CPT is led by an inspector and made up of sergeants, PCs, PCSOs and is supported by additional officers from the wider area to help serve the community and help keep you safe.
Teams work closely with local authorities, organisations, partners and residents to decide policing priorities. This helps teams find long-term solutions to local problems.

Pro-active operations are being actioned for the night-time economy and reassurance patrols will continue for the foreseeable.
A Problem Orientated Policing (POP) plan is being generated by the local policing team with 10 nominals to go on the plan.

Zero Tolerance on Knife Crime

The unlawful possession of a knife is covered by Section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act (1988), which is the offence of having an article with a blade or point in a public place.
This is an ‘either way’ offence which carries a maximum sentence of six months’ imprisonment or a fine in the Magistrates’ Court, or up to four years’ imprisonment in the Crown Court.
The local policing teams will be monitoring the ongoing situation across the areas of RWB, Malmesbury and Cricklade and will deal with offenders robustly.
