Dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour and Shoplifting around Devizes

Working on ‘Operation Skintle’ – Robust action will be taken regarding criminal offences and anti-social behaviour that may arise over the coming months and will continue to liaise with the Devizes Young Persons Safer Context Panel.

Investigations and intelligence submissions are ongoing, including plain clothed hotspot patrols and stop/search procedures used.

Also trialing ASB intervention in schools package with Devizes School and making connections with Downlands School.

Local officers dealing with safeguarding leads to engage with excluded students going further into 2023.

Community Speed Watch - CPT Updates

Attention is being paid to Aldbourne area following fatal RTC in December – further patrols will continue for the foreseeable.

15 speed awareness courses have been issued to drivers in the EZ area during January.

Bath Road and Windsor Drive have been reported to have localised issues – these areas will be reviewed for patrolling/speed-checks.

Op Scrambling

A large number of farms / rural premises are being targeted (close to A4/B4192/A346/B4000).

The offenders are also offending in TVP and North Hants areas.

Offenders are using 4x4 vehicles to enter premises – further investigations will continue to happen alongside the Rural Crime Team and local officers are currently visiting a number of farms and small business units to make owners aware of the current situation and to be vigilant.

Community reassurance patrols are ongoing.

Organised Crime Groups/Drugs

Several intelligence reports submitted in early Jan stating that cocaine dealing is ongoing in the Devizes area.

Investigations are ongoing and stop/search procedures are being carried out by the local Policing teams when applicable.
