Hare Coursing
Issued 26 June 2025
At this time of year rural communities traditionally see an increase in hare coursing incidents. This activity is illegal and causes damage and disruption to the land it takes place on. Local officers will be focusing their efforts on patrolling areas know to be used by hare courses and other rural locations at risk. Officers will look to deter any offences taking place and deal robustly where offences are found to have been committed. They will also look to identify areas at risk and offer security and target hardening advice to land owners where possible.
