Scott McPherson, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Engagement
Scott has worked within policing for more than 12 years and has led the communications response to several significant policing operations and criminal cases.
He has worked to a national level on issues such as Counter Terrorism Policing and recently led the organisation's strategic engagement approach to The Dawn Sturgess (Novichok) Public Inquiry.
He has overseen Wiltshire Police’s public engagement strategy throughout the Force’s HMICFRS improvement journey which saw the Force being taken out of the Engage process in 2024.
In his role as chair of the Wiltshire and Swindon Local Resilience Forum Communication Group, he has developed a multi-agency response to a number of major incidents, including the Novichok poisonings in 2018.
Scott is a passionate campaigner for equality and inclusion as demonstrated in his role as chair of the Wiltshire Police LGBTQ+ Staff Support Network, representing members of the LGBTQ+ community within the organisation, shaping policy and informing progressive change.
