A man is in hospital following a collision involving a moped in Butterworth Street, Swindon, in the early hours of this morning (01/08).
At around 12.30am, we responded to a report of a collision between a dark-coloured moped and a parked car.
A man in his 50s suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.
Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Any witnesses to the collision or who saw the moped riding in the Faringdon Road or Park Lane areas is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 8 of today’s date.

We have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to police contact with the moped rider prior to the incident.
