A man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after officers stopped a vehicle in Wroughton last night.
A roads policing officer stopped a Vauxhall Astra shortly after 10pm last night (6/8) following concerns the driver may have been under the influence of drugs.
The man was detained for a search of the vehicle and suspected class B drugs were located.
The driver – a 19-year-old man – failed a roadside drug wipe test and was arrested.
He has since been released while further tests and enquiries are conducted.
PC Luke Hobbs, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Day in, day out, we continue to stress the dangers of committing any of the fatal five offences – this includes driving under the influence of drugs. This can seriously impact your ability to drive and increases the risk of you causing a serious or fatal collision."
If you suspect somebody of drink or drug driving, please call 101 or 999 in an emergency
