We are seeking new Inspectors who can demonstrate strong leadership and management skills and will continue to develop and improve a high performing and aspirational force.
Wiltshire Police offers an opportunity for new Inspectors to help shape the future of the force and provides further opportunities to develop themselves towards longer-term career progression.
This career opportunity is open to exceptional Uniform and Detective Sergeants who are eligible for promotion.

Substantial evidence of leading the provision of a high-quality service to the public
Ability to demonstrate potential at the Inspector level.
Evidence of the national competency values framework (CVF) at the level applicable to Inspectors:

Assessment Stage week commencing 16 May 2022
Assessment Centre – This will be a half-day session, based on the Competency and Values Framework (CVF) and consisting of four activities:
Competency based interview
1:1 employee meeting where you will interact with a role player
Presentation based on the organisational values and behaviours
These will be held at Wiltshire Police Headquarters, Devizes from Monday 16 to Friday 20 May 2022.
To support Force resilience and maintain operational skills and credibility, successful candidates will be expected to conduct relevant on-call duties if successful.
Successful applicants will receive postings based on specific skills, vacancy and operational requirements.
Candidates should be aware that we will post successful candidates into the most appropriate role/location based on organisational need, even where candidates have stated a specific preference.

Be a current serving police officer in a Home Office force
Pass the necessary vetting and occupational health checks
Hold a full UK manual driving licence
Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues
Be able to show commitment to achieving high levels of attendance
Not be a member of the British National Party or similar organisation
Declare any business interest
Be able to satisfy tattoo guidelines
Ministry of Defence and British Transport Police applications will be considered on a case by case basis
Applicants who have existing county court judgements outstanding against them or who are registered bankrupt and their bankruptcy debts have not been discharged for at least three years will not be considered for appointment.
Applicants with individual voluntary agreements (IVA) will be looked at on an individual basis.
