Our Escort Officers are responsible for the secure detention, care and welfare of detained persons whilst transporting them to custody or other locations on behalf of arresting officers.
They work alongside police officers and police staff as part of a community team. They carry out these roles in accordance with legislation, safer detention and force policy. They also have secondary administration roles, including continuity of exhibits and monitoring of CCTV.
Experience of work in a similar nature is a distinct advantage but not essential.
We provide training in the more technical aspects of the role and successful applicants must be available for a 2 to 3 week full time training course in Devizes and at Melksham custody unit.
Any roles will be subject to the passing of vetting and references check. You will also have to take a driving assessment by our Driver Training Unit to ensure you are safe to drive police vehicles.
