A police force which reflects its communities is vital to encourage public confidence
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy has guided our work in the last few years to improve workforce diversity. However there is still more to do and we are not yet fully representative of the people who live and work in Wiltshire and Swindon.
Being an inclusive employer also helps us to understand our multi-cultural communities better, increase productivity and be more adaptable when it comes to problem solving.
Here in Wiltshire we carry out Positive Action – a range of measures and development initiatives employers can lawfully take to help people from underrepresented groups compete for jobs on equal terms with other applicants.
Read our Positive Action Plan (2020 to 2021) which explains our approach to attraction, recruitment, retention and progression
Our Positive Action team promotes vacancies and seeks to increase participation in our workforce from protected groups, break down community barriers and offer advice and guidance to people from underrepresented groups throughout the recruitment process.
