From Monday 3 February to Friday 28 February Wiltshire Police along with all other police forces are taking part in an Amnesty for Turkish Top-venting blank firers.
These Turkish manufactured Top Venting Blank Firers (TVBF) are readily convertible to firearms and therefore illegal.
The specific Turkish firearms soon to be made illegal are the brands Retay, Ekol, Ceonic and Blow. Although anyone with a TBVF who is unsure of whether the law change applies to them has been given the simple advice – if in doubt, hand it in.
TVBFs are legal to buy in the UK without a licence by over 18s unless they are readily convertible.

Whilst people will have bought these believing they were legal for their intended use, they are now no longer to be kept in your possession, therefore they should be handed in at the below police locations before 28 February 2025.
Owners are encouraged to hand them in at any of our police stations listed in the table below. You will be asked for your details, but you do not have to provide them, and you can remain anonymous.
