The inspection has shown that the service we provide to the public is inconsistent and failing to provide a routinely high standard. Whilst there are some strong examples of delivery, this lack of consistency means that we have been letting some members of the public down. We are determined to address this – improving service delivery is our highest priority.
We have a detailed and focused plan to address the areas of concern outlined within the report and our improvement approach is also firmly aligned to the delivery of the Commissioners Police and Crime Plan.
Wiltshire is one of seven forces now in the ‘Engage Process’. This process will come with additional scrutiny but also presents an opportunity for greater support. We will stay in the process until HMICFRS are satisfied we have made the necessary improvements – this is not an overnight fix.
