Wiltshire Police Chief Constable Catherine Roper attended the IWD Accelerate Action event at The Gathering Space in Lacock.
The event, supported by Wansbroughs and the Wiltshire Community Foundation brought together leaders, professionals and community members to drive meaningful discussions on gender equality and empowerment.
The morning's event focused on celebrating the achievements of women while addressing key challenges that still exist in workplaces and communities.
Speaking at the event, Chief Constable Roper said: “Events like these are invaluable to celebrate the achievements of women. It is also an opportunity to commit to further action in addressing the impact Violence Against Women and Girls has on victims, on family and friends and on communities. At Wiltshire Police, we continue to support and champion women at all levels, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.”
Attendees engaged in discussions aimed at fostering change and creating tangible impact. The event underscored the importance of collaboration between public services, businesses and the wider community in promoting gender equality.
As part of Wiltshire Police’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity, Chief Constable Roper reaffirmed the Force’s dedication to continuous improvement in policies and practices that support women in policing and the wider community.
