We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A361, Lechlade Road, Highworth, involving a truck and a motorcycle.
A motorcycle was travelling southbound on the A361 towards Highworth at around 12.24pm yesterday lunchtime (17/03), when it attempted to overtake a white van and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The motorcycle was badly damaged and the rider, a man in his 30s, suffered life changing leg and pelvic injuries.
He remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Sgt Rich Hatch from SCIT said, "I would like to thank the members of the public who assisted with the collision yesterday in what was a very challenging scene.
"We acknowledge that those who witnessed the incident may be suffering from some trauma and want to signpost them to some support. We'd urge you to contact the charity BRAKE or speak to your own GP if you think you need some help with trauma management.
"We would like to remind people that these collision scenes are evidential, and debris left at the scene is potentially crucial evidence to our investigations. We also ask that witnesses do not move debris before emergency services arrive."
If you saw what happened or have dash cam footage that could help with our enquiries, please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 106.
