Class A and B drugs seized during warrants in Broadgreen

Drugs with a street value of around £150,000 were seized in two successful warrants in Swindon as part of our ongoing community work in Broadgreen.

Officers from the Central South NPT and the Financial Investigation Team, assisted by Police Dog Bracken, carried out two simultaneous warrants last Wednesday (22/01) – one at a business premises on Manchester Road and a residential property in Cherry Orchard, Highworth in relation to money laundering and drug supply.

Two people were arrested and Class A and B drugs with an estimated street value of £150,000 were seized along with a large amount of cash, high value jewellery and clothing.

The warrants are part of ‘Brighter Broadgreen’ – our multi-agency work in the Broadgreen area of Swindon to make the area safer and more pleasant for all.

Sergeant Winter, based in Swindon, said: “These were two very successful warrants which have seen a significant amount of drugs taken off the streets.

“Other than the obvious risks to the public caused by drug supply, it also brings related crime and anti-social behaviour to areas including violence and theft which have a sizeable detrimental impact on our local communities.

“Broadgreen is a diverse area, and has many young families living in the area that are hugely impacted by the effects of drug supply criminality.

“Wiltshire Police will continue to work with our partners and the residents of Broadgreen to clear this criminality from the area, and support Broadgreen in maintaining this caring and close-knit community where there is no room for criminality.”
