We responded to reports of a dog out of control in a property in Exeter Street, Swindon around 4.20pm this afternoon (27/04).
A man in his 50s has been taken to hospital to be treated for life changing injuries.
Firearms officers were deployed to the area to make sure the area was safe.
The dog was sedated and secured. The owner, a 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner/person in charge of dog dangerously out of control causing injury. There is not thought to be a further threat to the public.
