Man given Criminal Behaviour Order for shoplifting in Trowbridge

A man has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after multiple shoplifting offences in Trowbridge and Chippenham.

Mark Parker, of no fixed abode, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court on April 10 after pleading guilty to numerous shoplifting offences in February.

The CBO bans Parker for the next two years from entering:

• B&M Stores, Hathaway Retail Park, Chippenham
• Savers, Market Place, Chippenham
• Sports Direct, The Gateway, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge
• Co-Op store in Trowbridge or Chippenham
• Marks and Spencer, Cradle Bridge Retail Park, Trowbridge
• The Shires Shopping Centre, Trowbridge
• Budgens, Hackett Place, Trowbridge

Sgt Charley Chilton said: “Parker was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting in February. Since then he has continued his atrocious behaviour by continuing to steal, and be threatening towards members of staff.

"A Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) is put in place to protect those retailers and their staff and try to reduce re-offending. If Parker breaches any of the conditions imposed, he commits a criminal offence and is liable to arrest and once again he will be put before the courts.

“The restrictions imposed on him sends out a clear message that this type of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and we will seek similar conditions against others if proportionate to do so.”
