A drug driver has been disqualified from driving after failing to stop for police before exiting and fleeing his vehicle while it was still moving.
On May 22, shortly after midnight, Blerim Losha, 31, of Yeoman Way, Trowbridge, failed to stop for RPU officer PC Richardson on County Way after he was seen travelling at around 70mph in a 40mph zone.
Losha then turned onto Bradley Road, then Yeoman Way before continuing onto Sleightholme Court. He then travelled to the furthest point before getting out of the car and fleeing while it was still moving, leaving it to roll into the pavement and up onto a garden.
He was located by local response officers at his home address in Yeoman Way shortly after, where he failed a drugs wipe.
He was arrested and charged with failing to stop for police, careless driving and driving above the specified drug limit.
In a hearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on November 13, Losha pleaded guilty to the offences.
He was banned from the roads for three years, fined £760 and required to pay a victim surcharge of £308 and court costs of £85.
