Swindon man sentenced to 21 years in prison for multiple sexual assaults

A man from Swindon has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
Damian Kinston, 27, of Park North, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court today (18/11) after being found guilty by trial for sexually assaulting a child under 13, multiple counts of rape of a child under 13, multiple counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and multiple assaults of a child under 13 by penetration.
Kinston has also been given a Sexual Harm and Prevention Order, placed on the Sex Offenders register and given an indefinite restraining order.
Detective Sergeant Vaughan said: "Kinston is a sexual predator who repeatedly subjected his victim, who was only seven when the abuse began, to horrendous sexual assaults with the only purpose to fulfil his own sexual gratification. Despite being found guilty at the trial in September, Kinston has shown no remorse for the suffering he has caused.
"Today’s result is the justice the victim in this case deserves. She has shown such bravery and courage throughout this case, it is truly commendable, especially given her young age.
"I want to thank her for reporting this to the police and for remaining so strong and resolute throughout the investigation. I really hope today’s sentencing will help her begin to move forward in her life, knowing that she has not only got justice for herself, but she has been instrumental in preventing others from coming to harm."
