Owners of high value keyless cars in the Devizes area are being warned to be vigilant following a theft of a Land Rover overnight.
The vehicle was stolen from an address in Patney Road shortly before 11pm on March 21.
Enquiries to locate the vehicle are currently ongoing.
Sgt Chris Wickham said: “Whilst we are carrying out extensive enquiries to locate the vehicle and identify those responsible for this overnight incident, we are keen to make owners of these types of vehicle aware of the steps they should take to keep their cars as safe as possible.
“By and large, vehicles today are more difficult to steal than ever, unless a thief can access your key or fob to clone them. These thieves only need to be within a few metres of your car key to capture the signal, even if it’s inside your home so you must take steps to ensure your key is kept well away from your car when at home to help reduce the chance of falling victim to this type of crime.”
