A man has been arrested following a report of a serious sexual assault in Old Town, Swindon.
The incident occurred in the Dammas Lane car park during the early hours of Sunday morning (30/6).
A cordon was put in place whilst officers conducted extensive enquiries and yesterday evening we arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of rape.
He remains in custody at Gablecross for questioning.
The cordon has now been lifted but enquiries will continue.
We take reports of this nature extremely seriously and the victim is currently being supported by specialist officers.
