Detectives investigating a stabbing in Easterton, Devizes, have been granted more time to question a suspect.
Officers were called to an address in Strawberry Fields, Easterton, shortly after 8pm on Tuesday evening (02/07) following a report that a man had been stabbed.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the victim, aged in his 40s, died at the scene.
A woman in her 50s was swiftly arrested on suspicion of murder and was taken to Melksham custody for questioning.
Following a request to the court, we have been granted a further 36 hours to question her.
A cordon remains in place at the property while we continue with our enquiries.
We would like to reassure the public that the suspect and victim are believed to be known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public.
