The A303 remains closed following a collision this morning in which a woman sadly died.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway near to Stonehenge shortly before 10am following a collision involving an HGV and a car.
The female driver of the car, a woman in her 60s from Bath, sadly died at the scene.
Her next of kin has been informed and are being supported by a specialist trained officer. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
The driver of the HGV was uninjured.
A closure was put in place at Countess roundabout and Longbarrow roundabout. This remains in place at this time.
