Five people have been arrested following a disorder in Calne.
In the early hours of December 21, 2023, police were called to the area outside Sainsburys in The Pippin following reports that a woman had sustained an injury to her leg during a disorder.
Enquiries have been ongoing and we have now arrested the following people on suspicion of affray:
All of the above have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
T/Sgt Ben Peacock said: “Despite those involved refusing to engage with officers, we understand a concerning disorder took place - we will not tolerate this type of behaviour on our streets. We are committed to keeping our towns as safe as possible and we have been conducting an extensive investigation into this incident. As a result, we arrested five individuals over the weekend who have all been interviewed.
“We would continue to appeal for witnesses to the disorder – were you in the area near to Sainsburys in the early hours of December 21, or do you have any dash cam or doorbell footage which could assist our enquiries? Please get in touch.”
