A man is currently in custody arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference in Swindon.
Shortly before 3am this morning (10/4), we received a report from residents in the Lawns after they had witnessed a man trying car and van door handles in the area.
Officers attended, including Police Dog Bree and handler, who helped to locate a suspect in an alleyway nearby following an area search.
The man, aged in his 40s from Swindon, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference. He remains in custody at Gablecross Police Station for further questioning.
We’d urge residents to ensure all vehicles are left locked overnight and remove all valuables from inside if possible.
Anyone with doorbell footage or CCTV which could assist our enquiries should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54240040529.
