A man has been arrested in connection with a domestic assault in Swindon and officers are appealing for witnesses.
Between approximately 3.30am and 4.15am on September 17, a 19-year-old woman was assaulted by a man who is known to her on the footpath that runs adjacent to Kingswood Avenue and the streets connected with Buckhurst Field.
The woman sustained facial injuries and required hospital treatment as a result.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has since been released on conditional bail while further enquiries are carried out.
PC George Mason said: “We believe that shortly after the woman was assaulted, two women came to her aid from a nearby house. Further to this, we also believe the incident took place within earshot and view of multiple homes and members of the public could have been woken by the incident.
“If this was you, we would be keen to hear from you as part of our investigation.”
