Following a disorder in Chippenham earlier this month, six people have now been arrested.
We recently issued an appeal with CCTV footage following two assaults which happened at approximately 3am on Saturday September 2 in Borough Parade.
A woman in her 30s and a male in his 40’s were injured during both incidents.
Since the incident, a 19-year-old man and an 18 year old man were arrested on suspicion of ABH in relation to the assault on the man and both have been released on conditional bail.
Yesterday, we arrested two 18-year-old women from Chippenham, a third 18-year-old woman from Calne and a fourth woman, also 18, from Trowbridge. All four women were arrested on suspicion of affray. They were taken to Gablecross custody for questioning and have since been released, also on conditional bail.
PC Jess Swanborough said: “We have been conducting extensive enquiries since these incidents were reported to us and would like to thank the public for the information that has been provided on the back of our initial appeal.
“I’m pleased we’ve been able to make further arrests and our enquiries are continuing. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated and we are committed to keeping our town centres a safe place for people to live, work and socialise.”
