In the early hours of September 3, a man in his 20s was assaulted in the Market Place and sustained injuries to his head. During a separate incident shortly after, a second man in his 20s was assaulted and sustained a substantial head injury, loss of consciousness and facial injuries requiring long term medical care.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has since been released on bail while enquiries are ongoing.
Officers have been conducted extensive enquiries since these assaults and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incidents, or anyone who may have dash cam footage which could assist our enquiries.
