Officers in Royal Wootton Bassett are appealing for witnesses following an incident in a play area.
At approximately 4.20pm on September 29, a member of the public reported witnessing a male being threatened with a knife in New Road Play Park.
The suspect is described as male, approximately 5 ft 10 inches tall and wearing all dark blue clothing.
Officers attended the scene and carried out extensive area searches but there was no trace of the suspect or victim.
Enquiries are ongoing.
PC Kaisha Thorpe said: “We take reports of this nature seriously and have increased patrols in the area.
"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with further information, and we’d urge residents living in the New Road area and the Morstone Road area to check their doorbell footage and CCTV cameras for any relevant footage which could assist our enquiries.”
