Emergency services were called to the crossroads near Lacock at approximately 5.35am this morning after a motorcyclist and a car were involved in a collision.
The motorcyclist – a man in his 60s from Chippenham – sadly died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specialist trained family liaison officer.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this extremely difficult time.
The road has been closed between Lackham roundabout and Beanacre.
Due to the serious nature of the incident, the road is likely to remain closed for approximately six to eight hours while emergency services carry out recovery and investigative work at the scene.
Drivers are urged to seek an alternative route.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage which could assist should call 101 and quote log number 27 of today.
