Police are investigating a series of incidents which occurred in a housing estate in Chippenham over the course of just one night.
Overnight on November 13-14, we received 14 crime reports in the Cepen Park North area including the theft of a Range Rover in Barn Owl Road.
Eleven of the reports were thefts from vehicles, while two of the reports related to vehicles being interfered or tampered with.
Sgt Jamie Ball, of Chippenham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We know there were at least 14 incidents in the area overnight on November 13th into the 14th in various streets in the area including Garth Close, Sheepscroft, Cowslip Way, Celandine Way and Curlew Drive. However, we believe there may be further incidents that have not been reported so we would encourage residents who believe they may have been victims to get in touch so we know the full extent of exactly what has happened.
"As part of our investigations, we will be working closely with neighbouring forces who have also had similar reports. Officers will be carrying out house-to-house enquiries and we have been gathering CCTV and doorbell footage but if you have footage which could be helpful and have not submitted this already, please do so.
“We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind residents of the importance of ensuring vehicles are left locked at all times and valuables are stored out of sight to prevent being targeted by opportunists. These incidents are upsetting and frustrating for the victims and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
