We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision between a cyclist and a car yesterday (31/05) in Melksham.
At around 6.35pm, a man in his 40s on a red pushbike is thought to have been holding on to the side of a moving car and was being towed along Spa Road.
He was unable to maintain his connection to the car and has fallen off, suffering injuries which are potentially life-changing.
He was air lifted to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 40s, left the scene but was later found at a property nearby.
She was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and for drug driving and remains in custody for questioning.
We are appealing for witnesses to either the collision or for anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the lead up to it.
