Man given three year driving ban after pleading guilty to drug driving

Daniel Garfield, 32, of Juniper Close, Calne has been disqualified from driving for three years after pleading guilty to drug driving.
Garfield, who appeared before Swindon Magistrates yesterday (19/01), was stopped on the morning of Sunday 17 May 2021 at Cottles Barton, Staverton and tested positive for drugs.
In addition to the driving disqualification, Garfield has been fined £225, ordered to pay £250 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and pay a £34 surcharge to fund victim services.
Roads policing officer Luke Hobbs said: “It is never acceptable to drive while under the influence of drugs. Driving whilst under the influence can create a false confidence which can lead to an increase in risk-taking behaviour, which puts your life and the lives of others in danger.”
