We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision on the A4 New Road between Calne and Chippenham yesterday evening (07/02).
Emergency services were called to the road near Studley at around 6.45pm following a report that a car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, sadly died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed and will be supported by a specialist officer. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
The road was closed for several hours while the incident was dealt with and has now reopened.
We’d like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to get in touch if they have not already spoken to police.
We would ask any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam which could assist our enquiries to contact Wiltshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 228 of 07/02.
Alternatively, you can contact the team direct on [email protected]
