Christmas presents were stolen during a burglary at a house in Sherston overnight and we are appealing for witnesses.
We believe the house in Tetbury Road was broken in to at approximately 11.40pm on Monday 11 December.
Multiple rooms appear to have been searched and a pile of Christmas presents were stolen. We believe this would have required more than one journey and a vehicle would have been involved.
Insp Liam Winstone said: “This house was targeted while the occupants were out.
“Incidents of this nature are always extremely distressing for the victims but at this time of year it is no doubt even more upsetting.
“If you are going away or out for an evening over the festive period, please consider hiding Christmas presents, ensure lights are left on or on a timer, try to leave a vehicle on your driveway so it would appear somebody is home and install security cameras if possible. It is also worth informing a neighbour if you are leaving a property unoccupied for a lengthy period of time so they can keep an eye on your home.”
Extensive enquiries are being carried out in relation to this incident and we would urge anyone with information, including anyone who saw or captured a vehicle in the area on CCTV or doorbell cameras at around 11.30pm to midnight, to contact us immediately.
