Cash stolen during distraction burglary in Corsham by man claiming his wife was in labour

Cash has been stolen from the house in Corsham during a distraction burglary by a man claiming his wife was in labour.
The incident happened at a property on The Laggar, near the Sports Ground, on Tuesday (8/11) night around 10.45pm.
The man knocked on the door asking to borrow money to pay for a taxi to get his pregnant wife to hospital. The victim handed over £40. The man then asked for a drink. When he left she realised her purse was missing.
The man is described as white, aged around 30 years old, about 5ft 10inches tall, of slim build with dark hair and a small beard. He was wearing a dark coat and denim trousers.
