"Hello, you’re through to Wiltshire Police, how may I help you today?"
Are you a fantastic communicator, able to remain calm in a crisis situation and provide reassurance to someone in their time of need?
Wiltshire Police is actively looking for people to join the Contact Management Centre at Police HQ in Devizes. The Contact Management Centre is the primary point of contact for members of the public reaching out to the police for help, intervention support, advice and to report crime.
Chief Inspector Doug Downing, Head of Contact Management says;
“Our Contact Management Team work 24 hours a day, seven days a week and on average field over 1000 calls a day in addition to other contact such as online reporting.
“Our operators are there to support members of the public in their early contact with Wiltshire Police and they are a critical function of the police service that seeks to put communities at the heart of everything we do.
“That initial contact by members of the public is quite often the first time they have reached out to the police service and for us that contact is so important.
“As a department we are seeking to recruit talented individuals who can support us in our journey to provide the public with the best possible service. We are looking for a diverse range of individuals who bring something different to the team, bring empathy and can look at solving complex problems within our communities.”
Recruitment opens today with the view that successful applicants will begin their training in October this year or February 2023. We are looking for people who are customer focused, enjoy talking and can listen and empathise with people.
We will be holding a pre application workshop on Wednesday 29 June, 6.30-7.30pm. We strongly advise anyone who wishes to apply to attend this workshop before they submit their application. To register via email to [email protected] to book your place.
