Darren John Fell, 39, of Hewitt Court, New Park Court, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates Court yesterday morning charged with Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.
The charge relates to an incident on Saturday night which left a local man in a life threatening condition.
Fell has been remanded in custody until August 5 when he will appear at Salisbury Crown Court.
The victim, who is aged in his 40s, remains in a life threatening condition in the Great Western Hospital, Swindon.
We would continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, which we believe occurred in the area of Hewitt Court, New Park Street to get in touch if they have not already done so. This includes anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage which could have captured footage relevant to our investigation.
