The incident happened near to Dominos Pizza in the High Street at approximately 1.30am on July 8.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s, sustained injuries to his face, ear, arms and legs during the incident. He was taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH with intent and released on bail pending further enquiries.
We’d urgently like to speak to anyone who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident take place.
