We are appealing for witnesses after a man and woman were assaulted in New Bridge Square, Swindon.
The incident happened at approximately 7pm on Saturday July 9 near to the Octagon Restaurant.
A verbal altercation is believed to have taken place before the two victims, both aged in their 30s, were assaulted. A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and released on bail pending further enquiries.
It is believed that there were many members of the public in the area at the time of the assault. We would urgently like to hear from these people as they may have significant information.
PC Katey Baker said: “This assault happened in a busy area of Swindon where foot traffic is normally very high. I would really like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw the assault, or anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in or around the area. We take reports of this nature seriously, and one man has been arrested in connection with the incident."
