Appeal following assault in Chippenham

• Appeal for witnesses to incident in Chippenham in early hours of today. (23/01)
• Man, 28, in hospital with serious head injury.
• Suspect, 22, has been arrested for GBH with intent

We are urgently appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Chippenham in the early hours this morning (23/01) which has left a 28-year-old man with a serious head injury.

The man was believed to have been assaulted in Foghamshire, Chippenham.

We have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of GBH with intent.

We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed a group of males who were involved in an argument outside E11evn’s nightclub in The Bridge, Chippenham between 2.30am and 3am this morning (23/01).

We would especially like to speak to a taxi driver who may have been outside the club at this time and may prove to be an important witness.
