The latest abnormal load movements across Wiltshire…
Date of notice: 01/05/22
Date/Time of movement: Mornings of Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May
Following the closure of the Honda factory at Swindon, a series of abnormal loads will leave the plant destined for Avonmouth. After leaving the site at about 09.30am each day, the loads will enter the A419 at The Rat Trap and travel southbound to Junction 15. They will then travel westbound on the M4 before leaving the county at Tormarton.
Each move will consist of various parts from the press lines, together with associated private and police escort vehicles.
Owing to its width, the loads are likely to be slow moving and have the potential to create congestion in places.
Wherever possible, disruption will be kept to a minimum although both hauliers and motorists are asked to please be patient should they come across this move.
Anyone travelling in the vicinity over this period on time critical matters should allow sufficient additional time for their journey.
