We have arrested a man following an assault near Jesters Snooker Hall in Swindon in the early hours of yesterday morning (22/12).
At around 2am yesterday, officers located a distressed woman on Drakes Way after a man had initially made off from officers.
He was quickly located and detained, and during the detention he sprayed an officer in the face with deodorant and bit him.
The 32-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
Further to our enquiries, he was later arrested on suspicion of assaulting the woman after leaving Jesters Snooker Hall.
He was interviewed at Gablecross Police Station and has been released on bail whilst our enquiries continue.
Following our witness appeal yesterday, we remain keen to speak to anyone who can provide further information on the assault on the woman.
